Anthony lives in the town of Wigan in Greater Manchester and was a lecturer for Wigan Council and Wigan College in the adult and community learning sector he provides classes and demonstrations to art groups and students throughout the North West and Yorkshire and teaches at his own art groups in the area.
Anthony also delivers painting holidays in the UK and abroad Tuscany and Montelparo Italy and more recently Croatia.
In 2005 he recieved his BA (Hons) Fine Art Degree from UCLan and in 2007 a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and was also member of NAPA, the National Acrylic Painters Association.
Predominantly a figurative painter with a prolific output, which often overflows into the disciplines of landscape, still life and abstract painting he does not adhere to any one medium forever experimenting and finding new ways of expression which for him is an important ongoing process. In the last few years watercolour painting has become a large part of his artistic practice enjoying the unpredictability and loose processes involved in the technique of watercolours. He has exhibited throughout the UK and has work in private collections across Europe and the USA.
In 2017 was invited to appear in the Sky tv series Fake
In 2011 he won the Judges Choice award at the Astley Hall Biennial Open Exhibition. Also in 2011 he won 2nd prize for the best painting at SKarts, Stockport Open Art Exhibiton.
In 2009 he was the 1st prizewinner of the figurative category in the artist of the year award at the SAA.
In 2008 he was commissioned by Tote Sport to produce eight portraits of celebrities using the horsehair of the 2006 Grand National winner Numbersixvalverde. The finished paintings where exhibited at Aintree over the three days of the Grand National event, then were auctioned off to raise money for the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital Imagine Appeal.
In late 2008 he was 1st prize winner of the landscape/urban category at the SAA Artist of the Year Competition in Waterperry, Oxfordshire.
September 2007 he won the Daler Rowney best British painting category at the NAPA 23rd International Exhibition, held at the Ludlow Assembly Rooms in Shropshire. Early in 2007 he was invited to appear in the BBC 2 program “Rolf on Lowry” a televised event where he worked alongside Rolf Harris in the reproduction of Lowry’s painting of ”Piccadilly Gardens” in Manchester.
In 2005 he won 1st prize in the prestigious Art of Love Exhibition at the Oxo Tower Wharf in London with his painting “The Others
About Anthony and the tour
If you have never been here, then prepared to be wowed by the Dalmatian Coast.
Whether you prefer landscape, seascapes, architecture, boats of all sizes and shapes, flowers, sunsets, sunrises, churches, or steps, you will always have an exciting subject. One can’t help but be seduced by the colours, relaxed pace, and Croatian culture.
This water-based media painting tour uses watercolours, gouache and acrylics. Workshops are designed to be interesting, engaging and appropriate for any level of drawing ability for students of all ages.
Every day will feature presentations, demos, exercises, and individual and group feedback.
Be ready to work, be challenged, be inspired and have a lot of fun.

Here is an example itinerary of how you can expect your 8 days to go (this schedule is always subject to change, mostly due to weather) :
DAY 1
Your arrival day.
An airport shuttle will be organized for your arrival.
Our group, if they have not arrived earlier, will arrive throughout the day.
We will all gather together at 7pm for a meet and greet dinner.
DAY 2-7
A buffet breakfast will be available daily, before travelling to different areas around southern Dalmatia. On the tour you will see vistas rich in vineyards, quiet coves, small beaches, flourishing olive tress and quaint architecture. This part of Croatia is unique in its beauty, encouraging one to take pleasure in painting and sketching.
Your painting tour includes scenic areas such as Mlini, Cavtat, Ljuta, Lokrum, Čilipi and at your leisure, Dubrovnik. Our day will begin at 8am with breakfast and then the day is set in motion by your instructor… each instructor will vary slightly but mornings and afternoons will be for painting, with a box lunch on location, in between.
At the end of the day we will return to the our hotel. You will have some time to yourself before the evening meal at 7pm and are encouraged after dinner to spend time exploring the area or enjoying wine with your fellow artists, relaxing before your next day of painting.
All box lunches are included + 4 dinners.

Your departure day.
Breakfast will be available and an shuttle can be organized for you to the airport, at your cost.
